Meet the Director

Paulina Parker

Director, Allen Campus

Paulina was born in Florida and at age 10 moved to El Salvador, which she considers home. A passion for teaching motivated her to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Master’s degree in Family Counseling. Paulina owned and directed her own preschool in El Salvador for 12 years.

In 2002, she moved to Texas where she taught kindergarten for six years. She became involved with Spanish Schoolhouse in 2003, where she led the After School Spanish program for the Frisco ISD. Paulina feels blessed to be the director and owner of Spanish Schoolhouse in Allen since 2008. It allows her to enrich the lives of children with academic excellence and the Spanish language, and to share her Latino culture.

Q & A with Paulina

What is your personal teaching philosophy?

I believe that children learn through play. Our job is to give them opportunities to have hands-on experiences, to discover, and to ask questions. It is also so important for children to feel loved, valued and secure to learn.

What makes your school unique?

Our school is welcoming and warm. It has been described by parents as being as comfortable as dropping them off at their tía’s (aunt’s) house. All of the teachers know all of our students by name and greet them as they walk by to their classrooms.  The children know that they are seen and valued.

What are your goals as the leader of the school?

I want our students to be able to be children and enjoy their childhood through play-based activities. I strive to create a safe and fun environment for not only the children, but for the parents as well.
